“I didn’t even do anything. It was just speculation over, like, rumors. I never dated the guy, I never touched my kid — I think that’s disgusting,” Shannon told Extra in May regarding Josh Duggar’s confession that he inappropriately touched five young girls, including sisters Jill and Jessa Duggar. “And our show was canceled immediately…It wasn’t no break with us. It was like, seven hours after the news broke, canceled!”
Mama June threatened to sue TLC after the network failed to cancel fellow hit reality show 19 Kids and Counting following their own molestation scandal.
In October 2014, TLC announced the cancellation of the hit show following the allegations. “TLC has cancelled the series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately,” the networks told Us in a statement at the time. “Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being.”
Daughter Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell was absent from the trip. As previously reported, Cardwell ended her relationship with her mother after claiming that she was molested by Shannon’s ex-boyfriend, a registered sex offender, when she was 8.
The slimmed-down star was accompanied on the family vacay by ex Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, Alana, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, and Jessica “Chubs” Shannon.
The former TLC star has reportedly shed 60 pounds after getting serious about her health earlier this year. The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo alum weighed 400 pounds when she first made her reality TV debut in 2012.
